Do you remember the good old days of the game on mobile when the games did not ask you to have a strong Internet connection to work even? Remember when no new ad appears every time you finish a level or die, what spoiled your game flow?

What if I told you there is a project that always works like that? A set of games that can be lusted off after you downloaded them, which is essentially free (you will see some advertisements, but only when the game is loaded or when you save your progress)? What if I told you that these games are Sega classics?

Everything is true. The service has a world name Sega Forever and the idea is to offer freely a multitude of classic games of the rich history of the company, on Android and iOS devices. No central application allows you to choose and download titles. Instead, the best thing to do is keep an eye on the official project page (http://forever.sega.com/) and see which titles are currently available and what promises to be.

So far, downloadable games were originally published on Sega Genesis (Sonic, Comic Zone, Kid Chameleon, Altered Beast, Phantasm Star II, Golden Ax, The Revenge of Shinobi, etc.), Game Gear and Sega Master System. All are emulated, with new features such as global rankings and support for backups in the cloud. Other more modern systems such as Dream cast or Sega CD do not offer games based on emulation. Instead, they are native iOS and Android ports, so there are not many of them so far (there are Crazy Taxi, Sonic The Hedgehog 4, episode 2 and Sonic CD, to name only some examples). The developer plans to use this service to offer us more technical games in the future, as well as the exclusive titles of Japan of the time.

SEGA

The games all have tactile commands on the screen, but they also support wireless controllers.

According to the official statements of the developers, this is only a beginning for Sega Forever. They plan to extend this service to PCs, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The focus will be moved from the emulation to native ports, with fewer games out, focusing on a more fluid gameplay and a constant image rate.

Now, although all this is fun and fun, this project has an additional or even more important goal. SEGA considers these games as an introduction to new titles containing the same characters, but also monitors the download numbers of the individual games to see what franchises always have a strong foundation of fans, that is to say which vintage securities would be profitable For a modern Rehash.

So, you know what to do. Check out the list of published games, find this forgotten jewel of your childhood and download it. In fact, download it on all your devices. Every little gesture counts, right?

Games require Android 4.2 or iOS 8.0 or later to work.
