FC Schalke 04: Simon Terodde in front of another second division

With the 2-1 win at SV Sandhausen, FC Schalke 04 became one of the winners of the 32nd matchday in the 2nd Bundesliga. The main actor for the drama in the Kurpfalz was once again goal machine Simon Terodde, who scored both goals. Now the veteran is facing a personal record.

Through Simon Teroddes winning goal in added time, the new old league leader FC Schalke goes into the last two games with a two points. More than ever, the dreams bloom from the direct return, which ideally could now even be perfect in the coming week.

After the bitter 1: 4 home bankruptcy against Werder Bremen, Terodde has brought back the euphoria on its own. The verbally indisposed match winner (“I have no more voice”) has now played in the fifth game in the fifth game in a row and thus already booked 27 goals.

Without the hits of the 34-year-old, who helped VfB Stuttgart in 2017 and in 2019 to 1st FC Köln for the first division promotion, Schalke would have had nothing to report in the promotion race.

FC Schalke 04: Terodde will soon be a four -time top scorer

In the remaining two games against competitor FC St. Pauli and 1. FC Nürnberg, Terodde is now even a special record: the title of the first four -time top scorer of the 2nd Bundesliga.

In the case of seven goals ahead of pursuer Marvin Ducksch (Werder Bremen, 20 goals), almost everything points to another Knipser trophy for Terodde – his fourth after 2015/2016, 2016/2017 and 2018/2019.

Coach Mike Büskens would treat his protégé to the award, but did not want to attribute the recent success to Terodde al1. “Simon has an incredibly good conclusion. But he also knows that he has good players who show him,” said the 54-year-old.
